The Brookline Police Department processes applications and issues permits to Brookline residents. Other NH residents must obtain permits from their town or city police department. Out of State, non-resident permits must be issued through the NH State Police, headquartered in Concord, NH. Applications are available the NHSP Headquarters or online at: http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/nhsp/ssb/permitslicensing/plupr.html

Completed NH Pistol/Revolver License applications may be mailed-in (Brookline Police Department, PO Box 341, Brookline, NH 03033) or dropped-off by someone else. DO NOT SEND MONEY. The fee for the five year permit is $10.00 and payable when the permit is picked-up. We accept cash or check, payable to Town of Brookline.

Once we receive the completed application, the processing is usually complete and the permit ready to pick-up the next business day. The applicant must appear in person to pick-up the permit, as he/she must sign the license. Our administrative office is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

If you are unable to come during business hours, you may call our dispatch center’s non-emergency line (465-3636) any time/day. The dispatcher will contact the duty officer, who will meet you at the PD and process your permit. If the officer is on a call or otherwise unable to meet right away, the dispatcher will give him a message and he will contact you as soon as he is clear.
